Federal 100: Suzi M. Connor

Name: Suzi M. Connor
Title: CIO, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Agency: Department of Health and Human Services

Health-first modernization. Connor launched an IT modernization plan to transform customer service, develop the workforce and strengthen security. In addition, her agile practices enabled CDC to deliver 12 new tools and technologies last year. Even the threat of natural disaster couldn’t disrupt Connor’s innovation. Days before Hurricane Florence made landfall, she and her team developed a system to keep tabs on all CDC personnel stationed in and traveling to states affected by the storm. She and her team built and deployed the first version of the system in 24 hours — and Version 2.0 just 24 hours later.
