The cross-cutting innovator. Helfenstein started a new business line at Booz Allen that addresses cross-agency issues highlighted in the President’s Management Agenda. In 2018, the unit delivered two solutions. District Defend, a centrally managed solution that can dynamically change mobile devices’ security protocols, combines radio-frequency identification and military-grade security to create distinct physical locations with varying levels of access. The other solution is a cloud-native digital platform that supports Recreation.gov with 70 microservices, responsive design, secure DevOps and nationwide synchronization to guarantee less than one hour of downtime per year.
