Federal 100: Bobby McCane

Name: Bobby McCane
Title: Chief Component Procurement Officer, Federal Emergency Management Agency
Agency: Department of Homeland Security

Master of disaster. McCane coordinated all acquisition activities related to the government’s response to natural disasters in 2018 — a year that saw an exceptional number of wildfires, floods and other calamities nationwide. He helped state and local jurisdictions take on new acquisition roles during response and recovery and made sure first responders had access to the critical functions and tools they needed to accomplish their prevention, response and recovery missions. McCane also enhanced the FEMA Integration Teams program by bringing together more disciplines to improve the quality and timeliness of the agency’s procurement activities.
