Leading the robot takeover. Although there is often a disconnect between agency CFO and CIO offices, USDA has achieved a rare harmony between the two, thanks to Moaney’s efforts. In the course of developing fiscal and acquisition policies for the agency, she has embraced emerging technologies and used her leadership position to adopt robotic process automation in financial administration. The use of RPA for rote tasks has led to efficiency gains and cost savings, plus improved audit results. Moaney’s work is laying the foundation for future technology adoption and savings at USDA.
