Understanding the attack surface. In 2019, Voorhees expanded the Automated Remediation and Asset Detection platform’s capability and capacity, which is driving changes in the Air Force’s cybersecurity roles, missions and processes. In 2019, she added new capabilities to assess, harden and defend more than 650,000 endpoints in near-real time. She also overhauled governance to allow additional units to access the platform for their missions and promoted education on the capabilities available to base-level personnel for local tasks, dramatically increasing the Air Force’s cybersecurity capacity. Colleagues credit her with leading a much-needed culture shift toward focusing on the user experience.
