*** The Merit Systems Protection Board is inching closer to being reconstituted with a quorum to handle the backlog of more than 3,000 appeals. The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee will hold a hearing Sept. 22 for Biden administration's three nominees to the board.

*** Hawaii residents can now upload their vaccination card to their smartphones so they can carry digital proof of their immunization against COVID-19, GCN reports. The Hawaii SMART Health card is designed to make it easier for vaccinated residents to present evidence to restaurants, businesses and other venues without carrying a physical document.

*** Five companies have been tapped by NASA to develop concepts and other requirements for what the space agency calls "sustainable human landing systems." Washington Technology has more on this story.
