Clinton's contracting plan: Cut the contractors

Government contracting may be a big issue this presidential season, which started about a year ago.

Hillary Clinton, speaking to a union audience yesterday, said she would cut 500,000 government contracting jobs.

From the Nevada Appeal:

Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York called for sharp reductions in the numbers of government contractors saying the Bush administration's privatization of government services has left the nation with three times the number of contractors as it has civil service workers and military personnel.

She said she would cut 500,000 of those contract jobs.

And a blog post about the same event.

I'm not sure what this would mean, but apparently it was well received.
