FCW Insider: Can you be a budget hero?

So we keep hearing about the government's fiscal budget issues -- well, we hear about them except for on the campaign trail. Former Comptroller David Walker has made his work getting word about the fiscal crisis. (Early word is that Walker may be a speaker at ACT/IAC's Executive Leadership Conference in October.) And it has an impact on how government operates, of course. Both Federal Sources and Input have warned that agencies are going to see tight budgets as lawmakers simply have to get a grip on deficits.

Why is it so complex? Well, American Public Media's MarketPlace program has a wonderful game that lets you try and solve the budget problem. The game lets you pick your budget priorities  -- and then watch how things play out. (Hat tip to the WSJ's BuzzWatch blog.)

Great idea.

Try it out yourself here. Or below.
