FCW Insider: DISA's McCoy to join Acquisition Solutions
Late last month, we told you GSA's Lisa Akers is leaving government
to join Acquisition Solutions as director of Acquisition Solution's Training Institute
. A big get for Acquisition Solutions. But I have been hearing that there was another big name to come. Well, here it is.
Diann McCoy, a component acquisition executive at the Defense Information Systems Agency, is joining Acquisition Solutions later this month to lead the company's defense business, other than DISA, of course. McCoy is a 2008 Fed 100 award winner and has been seen as a star for some time. Last year, McCoy "
oversaw and managed the agency’s $3 billion information technology acquisition program to support the Defense Department’s network-centric vision. And she set up the organizational structure and procedures for overseeing more than 256 major IT programs." More here
It is another big get for Acquisition Solutions -- only the latest this year, particularly since the company announced in March that it had sold an ownership stake in the company
to a Denver-based private equity firm.
ASI insiders tell me that DOD is the smallest part of the company's business portfolio, but it is also the fastest growing -- and they see a lot of potential to for ASI to provide acquisition advisory services to agencies, much the way Gartner does for CIOs.
My guess is Acquisition Solutions will be one of FCW's organizations worth watching in the coming year.
