The 1990’s brought acquisition reform through streamlined procurement procedures including interagency contracting and commercial acquisition while at the same time the acquisition workforce was downsized. The 2000’s brought the challenges of September 11th , the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Hurricane Katrina. The second half of the decade also saw a rise in oversight and investigation along with a renewed focus on the acquisition workforce. Today the acquisition system continues to evolve with the Department of Defense’s latest policy directives, OMB’s drive to reform IT purchasing and changes in interagency contracting. Roger Waldron, President of The Coalition for Government Procurement, will take a look at where the acquisition system has been, where it is headed, and what it all means to you as a proposal professional at APMP-NCA's January 19, 2011 Speakers Series Our new format gives you more time for networking and gets you home one hour earlier!
