Since 2007, the ACT-IAC Small Business Conference has provided a unique educational and collaborative forum where small businesses, large businesses and government agencies can work together to promote and grow the role of small businesses in the government marketplace. The objectives of the Small Business Conference are to: Provide small businesses with practical and valuable information on how to survive and thrive as a government contractor; Provide small businesses with a better understanding of what government agencies are looking for and the type of opportunities that exist; Provide small businesses with an introduction to larger companies seeking small business partners; Provide government agencies with the opportunity to meet innovative small businesses and share advice on what makes a successful small business contractor; and Provide large companies with a venue for meeting leading edge small businesses. Conference highlights include the workshops where attendees can ask questions and share information about the challenges and opportunities of being a small business in the government marketplace. The conference also includes a number of tabletop exhibits by government agencies, large companies seeking small business partners and companies providing products and services to the small business community. The conference is also an opportunity to learn more about the unique role played by ACT-IAC in the government community and how participation in ACT-IAC can provide education and relationships that are vital to success. Attendance at the conference has grown each year and over 300 people participated in the 2011 conference. Attendance in 2012 is limited to 350, so register early. The conference is open to IAC members and non-members.
