Although the Federal Government has dabbled in telework implementation since the 1980s, it was not until the Administration issued the Telework Enhancement Act of 2010 that most took notice and began in earnest to update their enterprise-wide telework policies, programs, and enabling technologies. During the past 18 months, many organizations have taken pro-active steps to, as one agency official recently said, to “turbo-charge” their telework programs. Today, agency executives are focused on meeting the goals stated in the Act to expand Federal telework programs while ensuring it “does not diminish employee performance or agency operations.” To accomplish the aggressive employee participation goals, government organizations have not only focused on training for managers and teleworkers, but many are also using this policy incentive to refresh their desktop computing and connectivity strategies—to take full advantage of the latest secure, mobile, and remote access solutions. Regardless of where your agency stands in making telework an integral part of your enterprise operations and business continuity strategy, there is likely room to introduce innovative devices, applications, and information sharing techniques. Plan to attend this half-day professional education program to learn how you can take advantage of the experience of others to streamline productivity and increase efficiency in your agency or department. Participants will hear from telework advocates and practitioners about how to: • Evaluate your current computing infrastructure for telework suitability and expansion • Understand your options for new device integration • Meet agency INFOSEC requirements while enabling secure remote access for the teleworkforce • Manage telework technologies, including key policy and enforcement considerations • Set realistic internal goals for telework adoption and training for measurable results • Transform your agency communications with more flexible and mobile alternatives Register today and bring your experiences, questions, and recommendations to share with your colleagues who are working to make telework an effective and sustainable activity across their many and diverse organizations. And be one of the first to attend to receive a copy of “Making Telework Work” and meet co-author, Jason Morwick, who will we part of the subject matter expert faculty.
