Following Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom Human Geography became essential to redirect how we approached our enemies. One aspect became vital - Knowing who you are fighting. To accomplish this, military geographers must consider diverse topics from geopolitics, lanugage, and cultural identies to the physical locations’ influences on military operations.
With this in mind, IDGA would like to announce it's first Annual Human Geography Summit, being held November 12-14, 2012 in Washington, DC.
At IDGA's Human Geography Summit you will learn:
The intelligence needs of Human Terrain Teams (HTT) and Human Intelligence
(HUMINT)
Delivering socio-cultural situational awareness and training to supported units
How trainers are designing the latest cultural and religious integration
learning aids
Lessons learned from OEF/OIF and applying these lesson to new regions
Ensuring a knowledge base for first responders/marines/ground forces
