Best Practices for Cloud Migration

Since the first federal mandate to consolidate data centers and move data and applications to the cloud, government agencies have been testing different approaches and paths to success. Out of these efforts some best practices have emerged. One is that planning and prioritizing are key to avoiding tactical and procedural errors. Thinking through the alignment of everything from architecture and containerization to staff readiness and data rationalization is half the battle.

This small-audience, interactive event is an open-discussion forum for federal professionals interested in cloud migration. Topics for conversation include:

  • Determining which assets should move to the cloud and when
  • Getting cloud architecture right for migration
  • Deciding between public, private, hybrid or multi-cloud environments
  • How to maintain peak efficiency
  • Accreditation issues
  • Preparing staff and stakeholders for migration
