Defense objects to adopting VA health records system
The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded Data Systems Analysts, a provider of certification and accreditation solutions, a contract to create credentialing for the VA’s Personal Identity Verification (PIV) system.
The company did not disclose the contract’s financial terms.
The PIV system requires secure credentials for access to federal facilities and logical access to federally controlled information systems, DSA said in a statement.
The system will be among the first to be certified and accredited as compliant with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 and Federal Information Processing Standards 201, according to the statement.
In addition to meeting those requirements, the VA’s PIV system also supports technologies for the department’s business needs.
