Craiglist Posts Poisonous Employment Ads

Bad guys are driving job seekers on Craigslist to a malicious online form that can hijack their computers.

Bogus notices on the classified-ads site link to the URL “bookhvy.com,” a scammer site. When visitors click the “Apply online” button on the site, malicious software is deposited onto their computers.

“A Google search showed over 600 Craigslist ads containing links to bookhvy.com -- from all over the country, and pitching a variety of bogus jobs,” security firm Blue Coat reports.

The campaign lured about 50 visitors in Blue Coat’s customer base, 16 of whom were deceived enough to click on the button to get the download.
