The Clinton administration today reported that the federal government's free information hotline for the Year 2000 computer problem has received more than 100,000 calls in its first three months of operation.

As of April 7, more than 107,000 people interested in learning more about the Year 2000 problem have dialed 1-888-USA-4-Y2K for answers. The information line provides regularly updated information about common Year 2000 concerns, including concerns about the federal government.
About 17 percent of the calls concerned questions about the federal government's readiness, according to the President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion.
The prerecorded information is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Information specialists and researchers are available from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays to provide additional information.
