You're a busy executive who travels several times a month, but your agency doesn't have enough notebooks to assign one to each person. So you are constantly juggling a half-dozen floppy disks, transferring files and presentations from one notebook to the next. Each time you go through this drill, you think to yourself, "There has to be a better way."

Well now there is: The Iomega Clik! PC Card Drive.

A recent addition to the Iomega Corp. product line, the Clik! PC Card Drive is a small, low-cost, high-capacity magnetic drive that fits into any standard Type II PC Card slot. The 40M Clik! Disk then slides into the Clik! PC Card Drive to provide storage capacity comparable to more than 25 floppy disks. Even better, the average seek time of 25 milli-seconds offers performance much closer to that of an average IDE hard drive than to a floppy drive.

The Clik! PC Card Drive is compatible with Microsoft Corp.'s Windows 95/98 and functions just like any hard drive. Upon installation, Windows recognizes the Clik! PC Card Drive and assigns it a drive letter. You can then access it by going through Windows Explorer and the My Computer icon as well as by creating a drive shortcut directly on your desktop.

The Clik! Disk works like any other removable disk in terms of copying, saving, moving and deleting files. After inserting the Clik! Disk into the Clik! PC Card Drive, you can use all of the usual Windows functions such as save, copy, paste, drag, drop and delete. In addition, the drive and the disks are hot-swappable.

Installation is easy. Iomega provides an auto-run CD with on-screen instructions for installing the software drivers. Although Iomega recommends that you install the software drivers for optimal performance, Windows 95/98 will automatically recognize the Clik! PC Card Drive even without the drivers. However, without the drivers, you must manually shut down the PC card slot through the PC Card Icon in the Control Panel before ejecting the Clik! PC Card Drive and Clik! Disk.

QuikSync software ships with the Clik! PC Card Drive. This software automatically saves user-designated files to the Clik! Disk.

The Iomega Copy Machine is another nice software tool that allows you to copy one Clik! Disk to another using a single Clik! PC Card Drive.

Iomega offers a one-year limited warranty on the drive and a five-year limited warranty on the disks. One-on-one technical support is available free of charge for a consecutive 30-day period, beginning with the first call during the warranty period. Automated voice-, fax- and World Wide Web-based technical support also are available.

As an added bonus, Iomega includes a snazzy molded case that can fit in your shirt pocket and holds the Clik! PC Card Drive along with two Clik! Disks.

The Clik! PC Card Drive is an extremely convenient way to add storage capacity to a notebook or to render much of your data portable. It's small, lightweight, high capacity, swappable between notebooks and perhaps best of all, low cost.
