Adams, who has worked in government for 27 years, will take an early-out option and become a vice president for strategic accounts with SRA.
Adams was one of the first executives in government to recognize the software problems presented by the Year 2000 date change and pushed SSA to begin fixing systems long before the rest of government tackled the issue. She is the chairwoman of the CIO Council's Year 2000 subcommittee and has won many awards for her Year 2000 work, including FCW's 1997 Eagle Award.
SRA is a midsize systems integrator with a substantial federal-sector business. The company, which expects to have revenues of $285 million in fiscal 1999, is based in Fairfax, Va.
