New alliance targets federal space

Global Management Systems, an IT consulting firm specializing in network and systems integration services, has formed an alliance with Visionael, a knowledge management solutions provider

Global Management Systems Inc., an information technology consulting firm

specializing in network and systems integration services, announced last

week an alliance targeting the federal marketplace with Visionael Corp.,

a knowledge management solutions provider.

GMSI, based in Bethesda, Md., already boasts an impressive list of federal

customers, including the Pentagon, the Army, the Navy and the Commerce Department.

It will now be able to offer knowledge management network solutions in the

federal market, said GMSI's director of business development, Dale Vogel.

"Visionael network management software and the GMSI staff of proven network

management consultants allows companies to manage network resources across

the life cycle of the network, supporting the planning, design, building,

provisioning and operation of complex networks," Vogel said. "Together,

these features create a solution that reduces the time needed to implement

and track network changes."

Visionael's Network Knowledge Management solution includes full documentation

of the physical and logical network combined with customizable workflow

processes to manage the evolution of a network.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company's federal customers include the Defense

Information Systems Agency, the Pentagon, the Army, the Navy, the Justice

Department and the Internal Revenue Service.

The alliance will enable both companies' federal and commercial customers

to monitor and manage their network assets.

"This allows our customers to have an auto-discovered database of their

network assets and to visualize those assets where they physically reside

in their buildings and on their sites," said Tom Reed, president of GMSI.
