GSA loses top talent

Two key leaders leave the General Services Administration for positions in the private sector

The ranks at the General Services Administration are thinning out.

Tom Burke, who heads GSA's information security group, is leaving Sept.

1 to work for Computer Sciences Corp. Burke, who will be working in the

areas of information assurance and information security, spent 23 years

with GSA. Previously, he spent 11 years in the Air Force. He starts at CSC

on Sept. 11.

Abby Pirnie, who for four years was the assistant commissioner for the Federal

Technology Service's office for strategic planning and business development,

joined Marasco Newton Group Ltd., Arlington, Va., on Aug. 1. She is the

company's chief knowledge officer. Marasco Newton consults in the areas

of the environment, information technology and organizational design.

Before working at FTS, Pirnie spent 16 years with the Environmental Protection

Agency.
