Letter to the Editor

Shame on IT workers who are complaining

In response to Mr. Jensen's Letter to the Editor, I ask you to hand him a crying toweland ask if he'd like some cheese with his whine.

I have been a federal employee for more than 19 years. I recently movedinto the information technology arena because the system security functionswere realigned out of security and into information management/assurance.As an 080 Security Specialist, I did not receive a pay raise like my IT-workercounterparts.

To Mr. Jensen and my fellow co-workers who complain that the raise was/isnot enough, I say to them: Go find another job. I don't work for the federalgovernment for the money. I work out of loyalty to my country and governmentand appreciation for the years of opportunity and interesting work.

I have had many opportunities to leave federal service and earn a highersalary but choose to stay, enjoying the challenges my job presents. I amtruly tired of the complaints.

I would have been overjoyed to receive a pay raise in any amount. Shameon those IT workers who are complaining.
