Agencies should try telecommuting

Those living in the Washington, D.C., area have to deal with a great deal of traffic. Almost 90 percent of the work that I do could be done from home, which would save me time from having to commute and would cut down on traffic.

More federal government agencies need to offer telecommuting. It would help traffic and help workers because they would not have to deal with the stress of commuting.

Telecommuters could do a large portion of the work being done in our entire building, as long as individuals had secure access to a computer system and a phone line.

Perhaps government should take direction from private industry, in particular JetBlue Airways, which allows agents to work out of their home. It could significantly lower costs, not having to have a building to "house" more than 1,000 employees.
