Safavian is arrested... and resigns

Sometimes the day-to-day news just shocks you. When we heard that David Safavian, the administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, had been arrested, well... needless to say, it is just shocking.

It is always important to remember that charges are not an indication of guilt and he, like everybody, is innocent until proven guilty.

But there are also broader issues here, specifically about procurement. There are many changes. Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.) actively considering leaving the House, although we are hearing that he may be tempted to stay.

One has the sense that even though this is not a procurement issue, precisely, there are going to be ripple effects.
