Let GSA's reorganization begin

Earlier this month, FAS Commissioner Jim Williams presented his proposed changes to GSA Administrator Doan. Williams talked about them a little bit in . [ or format] We have heard that Doan and Williams would present their results soon after the bill was signed, so... stay tuned.

Yes, it is official. GSA can now reorganize.

But if you didn't pay careful attention, you just may have missed it. But it was there on the White House Web site -- President Bush Signs H.R. 683, H.R. 2066, H.R. 4841, S. 3187, and S. 3613. And on that page, just below H.R. 683, the "Trademark Dilution Revision Act of 2006," and just above H.R. 4841, which makes a technical correction to the Ojito Wilderness Act, was the GSA modernization bill.

H.R. 2066, the "General Services Administration Modernization Act," which establishes a Federal Acquisition Service in the General Services Administration and replaces the General Supply Fund and the Information Technology Fund with an Acquisition Service Fund.
