The new chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Henry Waxman, was on ABC News' This Week Sunday and said that the committee will hold a week of hearings in early February looking at waste, fraud and abuse of government programs.

When we look at the spending on homeland security, when we look at Katrina, we see the same pattern -- of hiring big contractors, having them overcharge for the work they do. We've got to be the watchdog for the taxpayers.
