Federal information technology spending has been a perennial topic of news coverage in Federal Computer Week for the past 20 years. Here are excerpts from a May 13, 1991, FCW article, “Federal IT spending to hit $21.7B.”

We went back to Federal Sources Inc. for updated figures and a new spending forecast. Robert Dornan, the firm’s vice president in 1991, is no longer there. He’s retired and living in Austin, Texas.
