DOD acquisition undersecretary -- no experience needed

I'm just catching up on my RSS feeds and I guess I'm a bit surprised this item from the WSJ's Washington Wire on Friday didn't get more attention:

INSIDE MAN: Alaska Sen. Stevens quietly pushes to eliminate a requirement that the Pentagon's undersecretary for acquisition have private-sector experience. The president's nominee, John Young, an assistant secretary of the Navy, is a former Stevens staffer with little private-sector experience.
