Wired blog calls for suggestions to fill the post of chief technology officer in an Obama administration.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt's endorsement and decision to campaign on behalf of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama is fueling speculation that Schmidt could be angling for a slot in an Obama Cabinet, perhaps at the nation's first chief technology officer, Wired magazine's Epicenter blog reports.

Obama has promised to create a federal CTO position, and Wired is calling for nominations to fill the post. Readers have already suggested such diverse candidates as Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and...Austin Powers' nemesis Dr. Evil.
