Technology Can Make Government More Efficient

92% = Percentage of voters who think public agencies should make better use of new technologies to cut government spending and improve efficiency.
78% = Percentage of voters who said they are more likely to vote for a candidate for local or state office who has specific ideas for cutting government overhead and improving the productivity of government employees.
70% = Percentage of voters who said it would be a good idea to use the computer power and expertise of private companies to improve information technology departments at government agencies.
75% = Percentage of voters who said quicker and more efficient e-mail systems would make government employees more productive.

Distrust Between Public and Private Sectors on Cybersecurity

A survey of government and business officials found high levels of distrust between the public and private sectors on cybersecurity. More than 90 percent of respondents rated cyberattacks as serious threats, but the two sides disagreed on whether the other is doing enough to secure its networks.

U.S. Tops in Malicious Web Content

Web servers infected with malicious content are most likely to be in the United States, according to Zscaler's analysis of worldwide Internet traffic from January through March. In other words, when the company's customers visited sites with malicious content, 68 percent of the time the site was hosted on a server in the United States.

Top 5 countries for malicious Web sites:
1. United States: 68.1%
2. Germany: 3.9%
3. United Kingdom: 3.0%
4. China: 3.0%
5. Australia: 2.5%

However, seven of the top 10 countries for malicious vs. benign Web sites were in Central or South America. Zscaler took the number of servers with malicious content and divided it by the total number of Web servers for that country to get the percentage.
