CMS looks to get more collaborative
The agency wants to create a web-based collaboration space for its efforts to improve Medicare service delivery.
WHAT: A Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services sources sought notice to gather information for web-based collaboration tool services.
WHY: CMS is ultimately looking for a contractor would build a website to support the agency's quality improvement organization (QIO). The goal is to create a more efficient and effective means of delivering services to Medicare beneficiaries.
The website solution would focus on technologies for collaboration and communication, including library, storage, retrieval, search and education. CMS will use these technologies to find, store and share papers, audio and video files, and other media within the QIO program and among provider groups, hospitals, home health agencies and similar healthcare organizations.
CMS wants a contractor to provide the website under a CMS service contract. The company would also need to acquire licensing or subscriptions for Software as a Service for the QIO collaboration. The SaaS would need to allow for proper processing and to transfer all data.
CMS released the notice Aug. 3; responses are due by Aug. 17.
