HUD and GSA make cloud and CX awards

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is pushing ahead with modernization plans via the Centers of Excellence program housed at the General Services Administration.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded two contracts to implement Centers of Excellence at the agency, covering cloud adoption and customer experience.

The CoE program, run by the General Services Administration, embeds tech teams with a focus on modernization at agencies to make rapid advancements in specific disciplines, including cloud, CX, infrastructure optimization, AI, data and analytics and contact center operations.

Systems Engineering Solutions Corp was awarded the Cloud Adoption CoE, while Booz Allen Hamilton won the CX contract. was awarded the Customer Experience CoE.

In 2018, HUD became the second host agency for GSA's CoE initiative.

"HUD continues transforming its business processes by enhancing our digital ecosystem with cloud adoption," said HUD CIO David Chow in the statement. "We are looking to deploy a number of proofs of concept leveraging artificial intelligence, Forms as a Service, and records management."

HUD Chief Financial Officer Irv Dennis said the Customer Experience CoE will help with improved services for its public housing agencies, grantees and other stakeholders.
