Steve White

Chief Security Officer


Steve White is the Chief Security Officer for ForgeRock, the leading open platform provider of digital identity management solutions. Reporting directly to CEO Mike Ellis, Steve oversees all security strategy and programs for the company. He is responsible for delivering a comprehensive vision that covers the full cybersecurity lifecycle and guiding the implementation of that vision across the corporate and product development teams. He is building out dynamic security capabilities to help the company respond to the constantly changing threat landscape while maintaining laser-sharp focus on delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Prior to joining ForgeRock, Steve was the Senior Director of Security for Sonos, the wireless home sound system leader where he had end-to-end responsibility for all security efforts across the IoT company. Steve’s experience also includes security leadership roles as the Director, Security & Compliance for CenturyLink Cloud, Senior Manager of Corporate Infrastructure Security at Amazon and Director, Cybersecurity Consulting Practice at Microsoft.

Steve’s 20+ years of technology experience include serving as the Vice President of Information Technology for Young Life, as well as several technology leadership roles across a variety of industry verticals including transportation and logistics, electric utilities, and government. Steve holds an M.S. degree in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon and is a Suma Cum Laude graduate of the University of Arizona where he received a B.S. in Computer Engineering. He also holds an A.S. degree in Criminal Justice. Steve has held a number of industry certifications over the course of his career and currently holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

Complementing his civilian career, Steve served a total of 29 years with the U.S. Air Force. Steve spent 11 years on active-duty and after leaving active-duty held positions in the Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserve where he retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (O5). Over his military career he excelled in positions in unit command, cyber defense, law enforcement, combat communications, computer systems/network warfare operations, and operational testing. His last assignment was as the Commander of the 960th Network Operations Squadron, the Reserve Associate Unit to the 561st Network Operations Squadron, working to operate and defend half of the US Air Force networks at the Integrated Network Operations and Security Center West (INOSC West) under 24th Air Force.

When not working, most of Steve’s time is spent with his wife Jenny and whichever one of their children or grandchildren happen to be visiting. He enjoys travelling internationally and taking family vacations anywhere there’s a warm sunny beach with interesting places to snorkel.
