George Callaghan is the Founder of Illuminys, Inc., formerly known as BizHelper, founded in 2000 as an innovative web application development and hosting firm, BizHelper has provided Software-as-a-Service from its founding by managing the hosting infrastructure for our clients as well as empowering them to easily manage and market their business through our online toolsets that required minimal technical expertise.

Mr. Callaghan is recognized as a pragmatic thought leader in data center consolidation technology forecasting and lifecycle support, strategic planning, and project management for large-scale information technology (IT) projects.

Mr. Callaghan provides thorough analysis and evaluation of multifaceted, intricate problems involving senior leader decision making for program improvements, optimization for large scale enterprise IT challenges.

His experienced in technical areas including Data Center Hosting service delivery, Hosting Costing models, Application/Service portfolio reduction, Cloud Computing (Private/Public/Hybrid), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and software, Enterprise Architecture, and Enterprise IT Policy.

Mr. Callaghan developed a technology forecasting methodology that combined a capability assessment and a comparative analysis of policy /directives within the Army. The methodology reduces the Army challenges of transitioning to a new IT capability once it was matured enough for the enterprise.

When the Army CIO/G-6 began its data center consolidation effort, Mr. Callaghan established a vision that would allow the Army to reduce its application and data center footprint while increasing efficiencies and its cybersecurity posture. To achieve the vision, Mr. Callaghan developed a phased approach to analyze the enterprise portfolio and identify the critical capability desired and methods to eliminate the excess inventory.

In support of PD ALTESS, Mr. Callaghan was tasked with creating a methodology and vision for the Army’s premier hosting facility to transition from a managed service provider to a cloud computing services broker and private cloud host. Mr. Callaghan’s extensive knowledge of the hosting industry technologies and business models were key to developing this strategy.

Mr. Callaghan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from DeVRY Institute of Technology in Columbus, OH.
