Aaron is an engineer and lawyer at the United States Digital Service’s Department of Veterans Affairs (DSVA) team. On the DSVA team, he helps the VA with their cloud modernization efforts from both engineering and policy perspectives and is on the site reliability engineering team for DSVA, working with Vets.gov and other projects. This includes building and refining security and cloud processes and policy as well as the technical side of migrating VA teams to commercial cloud service providers.
Previously he was an attorney for the United States Environmental Protection Agency working in the Information Technology and Records Management Division. There he helped modernize and digitize the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) intake and response process, as well as to make that process more transparent. While at EPA, he also served on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Access Professionals working with FOIA, the Privacy Act, and associated laws and regulations.
