Electronic Records: The End of the Paper Trail

Oct 10, 2018

11:25 am - 11:45 am

Laurence Brewer

Chief Records Officer

National Archives and Records Administration

By 2019, new regulations will require all public sector organizations to manage their permanent records electronically, and by 2022, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) will no longer accept analog records. The new Federal Electronic Records Modernization Initiative (FERMI) developed tools for agencies to use when seeking out ERM systems. These include requirements, use cases and other materials to ensure that these systems will follow NARA ERM guidance. In this session, NARA’s chief records officer will discuss how agencies can adapt to these changes and find support, including new GSA contract offerings.
