Mark Lee

    Mark currently serves as the Assistant Commissioner of the Office of Policy and Compliance within the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) and is a member of the Senior Executive Service. In his current position Mark manages the policy, oversight and workforce functions across FAS $50 billion in annual procurement spend and 2,700 plus member acquisition workforce.

    Previously, Mark served as the Deputy Director of the Office of General Services Acquisition Policy, Integrity and Workforce under the GSA Senior Procurement Executive from 2013 to 2017. Mark managed GSA’s acquisition policy, procurement management review and acquisition workforce functions. In this role Mark received a GSA Administrator’s Award for Performance Excellence for leading innovative use of data analytics to improve GSA’s acquisition performance.

    Additionally, Mark has held numerous other positions throughout GSA. Mark entered Federal Service in 2001 as a Contract Specialist at the Federal Supply Service (FSS) Information Technology Acquisition Center graduating to becoming an unlimited warranted contracting officer.

    In 2005, Mark joined the Office of Acquisition Management, where he led efforts to promote small business utilization as well as strategic initiatives for GSA’s Government-wide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) and Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) program. As result of Mark’s work on the MAS program, he was inducted into the Government Computer News Rising Stars Class of 2008.

    In 2008, Mark led the Office of Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS) strategic planning efforts after significant rightsizing of the organization.

    From 2008 to 2013, Mark served as the Policy Chief within the Office of Acquisition Management and served as the focal point for policy and acquisition workforce training within FAS. In 2011, Mark led a team to receiving a FAS Commissioner’s Award for Acquisition Excellence in developing government-wide acquisition workforce training program for FAS’s customers.

    Mark is a graduate of Harvard University’s Senior Executive Fellows Program; GSA’s Advanced Leadership Development Program; holds a Masters in Public Administration from American University; and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University graduating magna cum laude.
