Across the federal government, agencies are focusing unprecedented scrutiny on supply chain management. From Congress’s recent creation of the Federal Acquisition Supply Chain Security Council to initiatives undertaken by the National Risk Management Agency (DHS), the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (Office of the Director of National Intelligence) and OMB, among others, securing the supply chain is a priority. Becoming more secure will nonetheless affect the procurement of IT products and services in the public sector, including more regulations, new reporting requirements and more rigorous day-to-day oversight of supply chains.
