Gil Alterovitz PhD, FACMI, has led national and international collaborative initiatives for developing novel informatics methods and approaches for integrating clinical, pharmaceutical, and genomic information, from research to point-of-care. As a faculty at Harvard/MIT and the Computational Health Informatics Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, he has produced over 50 peer-reviewed publications and three books in the field. As a presidential innovation fellow, he has worked on bridging data ecosystems and AI at the interface of several federal organizations, including the White House, HHS/NCI, GSA, DOC, DOE, the CIO Council, and the VA. He co-founded TOP Health with the HHS CTO’s office to bring together industry and government agencies around a data ecosystem (https://goo.gl/TEg6o5). He has worked with the VA on strategies to break silos and transform their data into a national resource.
