Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition for Cyber
Department of Defense
Vice President of Public Sector
*Providing Session Opening Remarks
Cyber warfare involving the world’s biggest powers no longer seems implausible. To prepare for such a contingency – and the routine cyber attacks that have become part of the day-to-day IT landscape – the Defense Department is striving to improve cybersecurity within the acquisition system and the defense industrial base. Among DoD’s efforts to thwart cyber aggression are implementation of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, development and deployment of supply-chain illumination tools, and ongoing efforts to automate deployment of supply chain risk management (SCRM) infrastructure to protect military communication satellites.
