Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command

Lieutenant Commander Ferrante is the N2 Department Head at Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command / TF-1020 in Suffolk, VA. He is responsible for the timely delivery of indications & warning, threat behavior analysis, and malware forensic analysis for the Navy’s sole Cyber Security Service Provider. LCDR Ferrante entered the Navy through Officer Candidate School following graduation from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida in 2007. He holds a Master of Arts degree in International Business, from the University of Florida. Upon graduation he served as intern to the Office of Legislative Affairs, Executive Office of the President, the White House.

LCDR Ferrante’s operational tours include Fleet Intelligence Watch Officer, and Deputy for counter-terrorism analysis in support of Commander Naval Forces Central Command, U.S. 5th Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. In 2010, he was assigned the Deputy Intelligence officer for SEAL Team EIGHT in Little Creek, VA where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2012, he then reported to Commander Naval Forces Europe-Africa, U.S 6th Fleet in Naples, Italy, serving as the Fleet Intelligence Watch Officer and senior analyst. In 2015, he was assigned as the intelligence officer to Tactical Development & Evaluation Squadron FIVE at Naval Special Warfare Development Group in Dam Neck, Virginia.

Prior to reporting to NCDOC, he served as the SECNAV Tour with Industry Fellow at USAA’s Cyber Threat Operations Center in San Antonio, TX. Here he was responsible for the research of emerging industry technologies, processes and management practices while utilizing his unique experiences to contribute to USAA’s business operations.

Lieutenant Commander Ferrante’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2), Joint Service Commendation Medal (4), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal as well as various unit and campaign awards.
