Mrs. O’Brien joined OCC in June 2018 as the Agency Records Officer, leading the agency’s efforts to modernize records and information management practices. Under her leadership, OCC has already made significant strides towards a fully electronic records management program. She also leads the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Program and the IT Accessibility (Section 508) Program at OCC.

Prior to joining OCC, Mrs. O’Brien was the Director of Social Security Administration’s nationwide records management program for over 65,000 federal employees. Mrs. O’Brien has served in the federal government for over 23 years, including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Department of the Interior, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She earned her OPM Senior Executive Service certification in 2013. Mrs. O’Brien earned her Master of Science from Rutgers University.

In her free time, Mrs. O’Brien enjoys spending time with her family and in nature. She loves the ocean, traveling with family and friends, and outdoor activities. She is an active member of her Christian church. Mrs. O’Brien also served as a Girl Scout leader for over five years, guiding and empowering the girls towards becoming independent young women through a variety of activities, camping, travel, and community service.
