Division Chief and Program Director, Army Enterprise Management Decision Support (EMDS) Program Office
Lt. Col. Bobby Saxon is the division chief and program director for the Headquarters Army G-3/5/7 Enterprise Management Decision Support system program. He leads an information technology research and development team of federal and contract staff to deliver current, historic, and predictive readiness and resourcing information to Army Senior Leadership, Army-wide. Under his leadership the EMDS program was recognized with the 2013 Computerworld Honors Laureate Award for Innovation by Computerworld Magazine; and, Lt. Col. Saxon was recently named by CIO Magazine as a 2013 CIO “Ones to Watch” honoree.
Lt. Col. Saxon’s 30-year military service includes time spent on active-duty, Reserve, and the National Guard. He supported contingencies in Iraq for Operations’ Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and he was the assistant chief information officer for the Army G-3/5/7. Additionally, in the private sector, he founded a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software company and for over 10 years he delivered CRM solutions to small and midsize businesses.
Lt. Col. Saxon’s education includes earning a graduate degree in Government Information Leadership with a CIO concentration and he was the AFCEA Distinguished Graduate for the Advanced Management Certificate Program; both from the National Defense University (NDU) iCollege.
