According to a recent report by the GAO, the federal government spent more than 75 percent of its IT budget for fiscal 2015 on running and maintaining aging legacy systems. Not only are legacy systems diverting money from other projects—they also are preventing agencies from adopting new and emerging solutions that would improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their IT operations and better support agency missions. In this session a federal IT leader will discuss how the federal government can modernize its operations without breaking the budget.
