US Public Sector
Diane Gongaware is the leader of Cisco’s U.S. Public Sector Services Sales. In this capacity, Diane and her team work with customers and partners to develop and provide comprehensive professional, advanced and technical services and solutions. These encompass technical services, professional and advanced services, as well as security and managed service offerings for federal, state & local government and public education markets.
Diane has a broad leadership track record across the Cisco public sector. She previously led the Public Sector Partner Organization as well as US Federal services sales, where her teams provided technical and professional planning, design and advanced support services for civilian, defense and intelligence agencies. Her earlier Cisco roles include the U.S. civilian agencies operations director, where she led a nationwide team that included the Cisco Federal healthcare vertical.
Prior to joining Cisco, Diane spent twenty years in the communications sector, leading $1B+ sales and marketing teams in Fortune 500 companies, as well as successful entrepreneurial companies. Her experience spans all business market segments. She has been a principal, president, GM and officer of several venture-backed, successful start-up companies in the IT sector. As Enterprise Vice President Sales at Verizon/Bell Atlantic, Diane led the enterprise, state and local government, channels and ISP sectors.
Diane has a B.S. in business finance and earned her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Diane is a member of the Federal Industry Advisory Council (IAC), is a graduate of the ACT/IAC Partners Program, and has served as vice-chair of the ACT/IAC Partner Program. She is an active mentor with Women in Technology (WIT) and serves on the Board of The Women’s Center, a non-profit counseling and resource facility addressing the personal, professional, legal and financial concerns of women and their families.
She is a 2016 “Fed 100” award winner, a 2015 YWCA of Silicon Valley TWIN awardee, Recipient of the 2015 CRN top Women in the Channel, and recipient of the 2010 Washington-area WIT Public Sector Large Business Leadership Award. She and her husband reside in Vienna, Virginia.
