Opening Remarks by Tina Swallow

Tina Swallow joined Cisco in 2007 as a Business Development and Strategic Programs Manager supporting Cisco’s Defense business. Working with senior leadership, she built relationships and enabled adoption of Cisco technologies. In 2013, she assumed the role of Regional Manager for Cisco’s US Navy Global portfolio. In this role she leads the cross functional team of sales, engineering, services, product specialists, and channels in support of the US Navy customer.

Tina retired from the US Navy with 21 years of service after serving as the Commanding Officer of US Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Far East. In this role she supported Pacific and Central Combatant Command operations, leading nine Navy and Marine Corps communications network facilities including detachments in Japan, Korea, Guam, Singapore and Diego Garcia. Earlier in her career Tina served as the Officer in Charge of the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Detachment Hampton Roads, providing the command and control for the Atlantic Fleet Headquarters, and as Information Systems Officer at Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. In addition to her overseas tours in Japan and Bahrain, she supported air operations in Keflavik, Iceland and naval communications in Naples, Italy. In other assignments, Tina helped integrate technology solutions to support US Navy and Marine Corps requirements as the military transitioned to digital operations.

Tina earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and a Master of Science in Information Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School. She is a member of Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), and served as the President of the Tokyo Chapter. In addition she has served as National Vice President for Corporate Affairs on the Navy League. Active in the community, Tina leads efforts to cure childhood cancer through Cure Search and St. Baldrick’s and provides leadership through the United Through Reading program. Together with her husband Chandler who is a retired Navy Captain and member of the Senior Executive Service, they are raising 3 children.
