Richard Blake is the Senior Technologist of the Office of Strategic Programs within the Office of Integrated Technology Services (ITS) in GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). The Federal Acquisition Service provides buying platforms and acquisition services to Federal, State and Local governments for a broad range of items from office supplies to motor vehicles to information technology and telecommunications products and services. As an organization within FAS, ITS provides access to a wide range of commercial and custom IT products, services and solutions.

Richard currently serves as the Senior Technical Advisor to the highly anticipated Alliant 2 contracts, GSA’s Cloud PMO and GSA Category Management teams as a whole with a particular emphasis on emerging technologies and innovative acquisition strategies.

Richard has over thirty years of hands on Information Technology experience and offers a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen. He previously served as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Information Technology with eCend Managed Systems (EMS2) exclusively executing and supporting development and sales strategy of Avaya’s Modular Messaging Enterprise Platform from 2000 to 2006. Richard was Vice President and Chief Technology Officer with Salient Networks from 1998 to 2000 and Vice President and Director of Information Technology for ProKennex International from 1993 to 1998.

Richard studied at the Boston College and Grossmont College after he first served his country with the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1976.
