Mark Hayes has held the position of Chief Technology Officer since 2014. Prior to being named to this position, he was the Director of the Teleprocessing Management Division. As the CTO, Mr. Hayes is responsible for technology modernization and innovation. He has led a number of initiatives to accelerate cloud adoption across the Department. Mr. Hayes has also led the adoption of an agile enterprise that enables the business to accomplish the mission of the Department. Through the adoption of enterprise services and enterprise data management the Department has seen a reduction in time to market for new application development efforts.
Mr. Hayes previous positions include the Deputy Director of the Office of Field Administrative Resources, where he was responsible for several administrative services nationwide; the Director of Administrative Service Center 2, where he was responsible for all Administrative services (Human Resources, Information Technology, Administrative Resources and Contracting) within Regions IV and VI. Mr. Hayes has also served as the IT Director for Region IV and a Computer Specialist with HUD. Mr. Hayes has been with HUD since 1996.
Prior to accepting a position at HUD, Mr. Hayes served as an Electronics Engineer for the Department of the Air Force and Department of the Navy. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama. He resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife and son.
