Contracting Officer in the Office of IT Schedule Programs for the Office of Integrated Technology Services (ITS)
Soundjata Carty is a Contracting Officer in the Office of IT Schedule Programs for the Office of Integrated Technology Services (ITS) in GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). The Federal Acquisition Service provides buying platforms and acquisition services to Federal, State and Local governments for a broad range of items from office supplies to motor vehicles to information technology and telecommunications products and services. As an organization within FAS, ITS provides access to a wide range of commercial and custom IT products, services and solutions.
Mr. Carty has over five years of Government contracting experience, having served as a FAC-C Level III Warranted Contracting Officer for GSA’s Transportation Acquisition Support Division specifically QMACA. While there he was responsible for evaluating and negotiating procurement opportunities for the Government, as well as recommending for award complex contracts and modifications in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Mr. Carty conducted quality assurance plans and acquisition planning to issue Request for Information (RFIs) and Request for Quotes (RFQs) on a regular basis; thus, acquiring a wide variety of commodities and services for GSA.
Mr. Carty holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from the University of the Virgin Islands, a Master of Science (MS) in Management Information Systems Technology from the George Washington University’s School of Business, and a graduate of the Graduate School’s Executive Leadership Program (ELP). Mr. Carty began working with IT Schedule 70 specifically the Customer and Administration Support Branch at the end of 2014, and has enjoyed working with the team and GSA’s customers. Mr. Carty hails from the sunny U.S. Virgin Islands.
