Stephen Gibson serves as a Senior Contract Specialist within the General Services Administration (GSA); Federal Acquisition Service (FAS); Integrated Technology Services (ITS); National Information Technology Commodity Program (NITCP) in Atlanta, GA. As a Senior Contract Specialist, Stephen provides acquisition assistance in acquiring information technology commodities and ancillary services to government customers located worldwide using innovative contracting solutions.
Stephen is a Subject Matter Expert on Reverse Auctions and provides guidance to a team of acquisitions, information technology, and business management professionals on the continued development and enhancement of the GSA Reverse Auction Platform. Stephen is responsible for providing training, individual counseling and assistance to federal, state and local government customer agencies, and industry partners nationwide on GSAs Reverse Auction Platform. Stephen, with ASI Government, developed Defense Acquisition University’s (DAU) GSA Reverse Auction Platform course (FAC 052).
Stephen joined GSA in 2013 after spending 8 years with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a Contract Specialist where he served as a Contracting Officer for DHS’s Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team deployed to 13 different presidentially declared disasters.
Stephen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Alabama and holds a Level III Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C).
